Tribute In Light (redux)

“Tribute in Light is one of the most powerful and healing works of public art ever produced. The majestic blue twin beams are presented annually by MAS, shining from dusk on September 11, through dawn the next day. Visible within a sixty-mile radius on a clear night,”

I let a great photographer Barry Yanowitz be my eyes since I’ve never been able to photograph the tribute :

St. Mary’s 45th celebration

Birth, death, surgery, trauma, have been through all at St. Mary’s. Loved the French theme of the celebration and can only hope for socialized medicine here too!

The Good Life

I was lucky enough to be given a dozen of left over crabs of which I made my first crab cake the hard way and ate during the presidents speech last night. My crab friends also had tickets to the speech in town this morning. This is the smartest and most decent president in my lifetime and why there isn’t a rally around him to prevent a collapse of this republic is beyond imagination.

TALL BIKE (redux)

photo : Arthur Stephens

Recently some one sent me a video of a Penny-farthing and seeing Tom Chenoweth at a sculpture viewing reminded me of a custom request I had Tom do for me back in the 70’s. Wish I still had this bike!
I had first seen this type of bike in the early 60’s down the block at our swimming pool where an older kid had one. There is also a great coffee shop in town named after it :

COVINGTON FARMERS MARKET

A nice fellow named Jacob called this to our attention while we were taking pictures downtown of Althea’s home town. I should have taken pictures of it with the cool lights on and I believe we were told it was designed and built by Virginia Tech students???

The Last Cloud

This was taken about 8:30 Sunday morning after Irene before the sky went all blue.

My banana trees got shredded but am in hopes of a bloom?

WBZ-AM 1030

There was absolute crap on the radio airwaves during Irene except for this lone station in Boston “WBZ”, that even commercial fisherman trying to ride out the Hurricane in their deadrise’s in the Bay listened to and remarked it was their only source for no BS information. A big THANKS to WBZ for being there in a sea of idiots. Short Wave radio has been ruined by religious nuts. FM is nice for music, but to listen to others share riding out the storm is what most sane people needed.

A BIG WELL DONE!
