The new wing is awesome but I did love the old 1976 north wing that had a certain charm to it and hoping to find some sorta tribute to it in photographs somewhere. Here are some funky photos I took of it in 1976.

Those that remember the old north wing were treated by this Togate Statue of Emperor Caligula, Roman c. A.D. 38, Marble, as entering the orginal museum from the wing. According to the 1985 Apollo: “In 1976, a forth addition was built. It differed from its precessors, assuming what then was thought to represent a ‘contemporary’ style. Curvilinear in form, inside and out, it provided ample public spaces for lecture halls, a caferteria and a larger Theatre lobby, but its general configuration was extraordinarily ill-suited to the display of works of art
