Vultures aren’t so pretty close up but are soaring champions sweeping over miles of territory with scarcely a wingbeat. Their sanitation work is an essential service.

Some odds and ends from earlier this spring.
David James has produced one of the most uplifting films of the spring featuring Norman Nortledorf and family. I’ve only known David and Norman for a couple of years and both have appeared in panoramas of mine. I was also lucky enough to watch Norman being filmed in a major production and he looked incredible from all the views I saw him from. I’m hoping I did too???
Went searching for exposed trolley tracks in town which is pending and ran across this. Today’s light reminds me of Alexander Gardner panoramas shot of Richmond from Pratts Castle after the city was in ruin.
Finding trolley tracks are harder than I imagined. I found a map of the Richmond Traction Co. online that I was using but these tracks on Crane St. I’m afraid are just freight tracks leading from the old C&O depot that was on Broad near this area. The public library had one copy of a wonderful book “RAILS IN RICHMOND” by Carlton Norris McKenny (1986) that is a real gem. Like the Maury bio I read last year this is written really well.

I had gone out today looking for tracks that I could push my telephoto too its max which with the heat of the rocks makes the frame look impressionistic. This is looking toward the city where the tracks pass over the Chickahominy swamp.

Been having some anger issues due to living among a Sea of bad vibes. Not to let the Yin side bring me down, I remember a frame of quotes my folks had on our dining room wall of which this one always seemed to keep me in check.
