Rocketts Landing (redux)

When ever the Library of Congress updates its digital library I try to improve on panoramas from the public domain. This is two pictures stitched I’ve been waiting to do bigger until now. The picture is circa 1860′s, probably by Gardner?

The 19th century version was taken from some where up this hill? This is at the top of Libby Hill.

Here comes the sun

When I’ve had the chance I have been photographing the Ashe statue for Paul. When the leaves turn color I’ll be out there with a ladder for I hope my best shot of it.

Finally an all blue sky after an earthquake, hurricane, and the arrival of fall.

Black and Yellow Garden Spiders are harmless to humans. Because they are large, many people fear them; however, not only are they harmless, but they do a lot of good. These spiders eat large amounts of insect pests, such as flies, mosquitoes, and aphids.

the DUCE #3 (2nd day)

I went back to the 2nd Street Festival just to photograph Plunky. All the jazz musicians I’ve been privileged to know have been a world of knowledge and after seeing his french movie footage it appears that Plunky shares this trait. These panoramas take some time but am hoping to have a special portrait of Plunky later in the week. I posted these roughcuts because alot of these events you never seem too be able to see the photos that are being taken. It was a real pleasure for me to do this although I feel like a fish out of water where ever I go. A reason most of my work are landscapes.

I hadn’t been to this festival in over two decades of which I had photographed him at. I just couldn’t let this opportunity get away. Who ever the sound production are, were amazing!
