You’d think the park service would correct this problem, it being the major entry way into the parks and AT? We used to stop here on all our trips to the mountains.
Another cool old place ontop of mountain on rt.250.
We were in the mountains for a week celebrating Althea’s moms 90th birthday. The first day we got there we were able to make it to the bottom of Falling Springs with the help of two very nice young men who helped us down the rocky trail that they had just come up. Getting no bars on the cell-phone, I doubt we would have tried it on our own? Thanks Bryan and Kevin hope you enjoy these photos!
I’ve got 4 gigs of panoramas pending and got all my favorite places except a storm on the top of blue ridge that I’ll never forget. The most dramatic image in nature I’ve ever witnessed.

Althea made it under falls while I was shooting from tripod (nice pano).
A beautiful bust behind the Kugel of a beloved citizen and judge.
Some local talent performing across the street. I’m starting to feel there really is something to their slogan “Center of the Universe”.
An interesting painting of the H.L. Hunley in a private collection of where we were attending a birthday party in Elmont today.
All my panoramas were shot from the top right, this photo pretty much shows my position. I hadn’t seen a show here since Cannonball Adderley back in the 70′s. I just happened into this coming off the river.
I was at the river under the H- bridge and Ponypasture before the jazz festival.
Will have to get back early morning to get better light for this monster vine on tree.
More people have been asking me about this photo. Last month this was on the toothbrush cord in the bathroom. After taking about 20 photos from both sides of which I combined here, I returned it to the wild (I wouldn’t even hurt a bug). It’s a pretty wicked bug if you Google it. I’d seen it before but never in the house.
